Belfast will be transformed into a sea of colour on March 17 as the annual St Patrick’s Day parade makes its way through the city centre.

This year even more people get to enjoy the spectacle as the parade takes an extended route from City Hall to the concert venue at Custom House Square.

The new route offers more space to enjoy the wonderful eye catching floats as they travel along Donegall Place, Royal Avenue, Donegall Street, Bridge Street and High Street before arriving at Custom House Square where the annual concert headlined by X Factor 2014 winner, Ben Haenow, begins at 12.45pm.

As well as Ben Haenow the popular free music event will feature former Westlife member, Brian McFadden, local singer Triona Carville who has supported Joan Armatrading in Dublin, traditional band Altagore, Innova Irish Dancers and the Belfast Boys Model Drummers.

“Community groups from across the city are taking part in the St Patrick’s Day Parade which will be an eye catching carnival to attract thousands of locals and visitors alike so I hope everyone will take up the invitation and have a great time,” added the Lord Mayor.

The parade includes a gigantic snake, bands, dancers, and large puppets. The Lord Mayor will be leading the parade, which leaves City Hall at 12 noon, directly to the concert site at Custom House Square so followers can continue to enjoy the music and fun atmosphere.

Westlife’s Brian McFadden and Boyzone’s Keith Duffy have formed their own supergroup called Boyzlife which is the most genius name ever if we’re honest.

At the moment it’s just Brian and Keith in the band – but Brian’s hinted that the other boys could be joining them at some point later down the line.

Well, it’d be rude not to.

Brian told Hello!: “Who knows, next year you might have Kian and Shane doing it together or Mikey and Mark, there’s kind of an open idea for anyone who wants to do it.

“Because we’re from two different bands people want to know if anyone else will join. But this year is about me and Keith, and if anyone else wants to get involved further down the line we’ll surely talk about it, but right now it’s just us two.”

Keith confirmed that the rest of Boyzone and Westlife are “very supportive” about the whole supergroup idea.

Corrie star Keith then explained how he came up with the idea that he and Brian should join up to do shows together in the first place – after going out and getting drunk together.

He said: “An idea was born and the next day with our hangovers we decided, ‘You know what, we come up with an awful lot of ideas when we’re drunk, we’ve just remembered one for the first time.’”

Boyzone’s Keith Duffy and former Westlife singer Brian McFadden will embark on a UK tour later this year, kicking off in October. The tour will consist of 12 dates in total, with tickets on sale from 9am on March 8.

In a press release, Duffy says of the news: “Brian and I have been talking about this for a while so it’s really exciting to finally be able to reveal Boyzlife. We can’t wait to get out on the road and reconnect with our fans, taking a trip down memory lane.”

McFadden added: “Keith and I have always been great friends and we’ve wanted to work together for quite a while now. With the amount of stories between us we knew it would make for a great live show, mixed in with a few songs!”

McFadden also hinted to The Sun that the other members of the two acts might be open to joining the supergroup. He said: “We all had a chat [at Ronan Keating’s wedding last year], the lads. We said it would be amazing. Not even just performing together, but can you imagine the craic?”

“Nine of us Irish lads on a tour bus together, going round the world together. It would be absolutely carnage. We all get on so well so you never know. We could end up adding more people to the next one. Right now this is about me and Keith but the door is always open.”

Brian McFadden originally left Westlife in 2004, with the remaining members continuing as a fourpiece until 2012.

Keith Duffy, meanwhile, served as a member of Boyzone from 1993–2000, before reuniting with the group when they reformed in 2008.

Brian McFadden has been eliminated from The Jump .

The singer – who shot to fame in boyband Westlife – was knocked out of the Channel 4 competition after being beaten in jumping height and distance by the other contestants.

Retired rugby player Ben Cohen , ultra posh Tamara Beckwith, boybander Tom Parker and former Superman actor Dean Cain all took on the main jump and landed whopping lengths.

But Brian opted for the air jump and could only muster 9m, meaning he gets to go home from the injury hit show.

BRIAN McFadden has penned two love songs about his estranged wife Vogue Williams – seven months after their split.

The former Westlife singer, 35, croons about the Irish model in Nothing Without You, in which he insists she will never stop being his “baby”.

In lyrics obtained by The Sun, he sings: “We can take the pain and laughter / Chasing happy ever afters / No ones got a love that’s perfect / Just enough to make it worth it.

“You can stop and say you hate me / That won’t stop you being my baby / Giving up’s the worst thing you could do / ‘Cause I’m nothing without you.”

Brian – who is currently in Austria competing on The Jump – is believed to have written the tracks last autumn when he was still living with Vogue, 30, despite announcing their separation last summer.

They split following three years of marriage but are not believed to have started divorce proceedings.

In a second song titled Wandering Eyes, he confesses he struggled to deal with the male attention she received.

Admitting he’s still attracted to her, he compares her face to the sunshine and describes her body as “a work of art”.

On the ballad, he sings: “I’m not the jealous type / Any man would find you hard to deal with / Those wandering eyes on you tonight / Wondering why you’re with this guy.

“With a face like the sun you shine / And your body’s a work of art / And your body breaks my heart.”

Both tracks are expected to appear on his as-yet untitled fifth solo album.

The news of his love songs comes just a week after Vogue flew out to Austria to cheer Brian on as he continues to take part in Channel 4 winter sports show The Jump.

In her online blog for Hello! she wrote: “So this week I went to Austria to see Brian at the Jump on Thursday. He wanted me to go and watch one of the live shows so my cousin Cass and I decided to make a little ski holiday out of it.”

A representative for Brian has been approached for a comment.

Brian McFadden has asked Nicky Byrne to make up for his failures – when he competes in the Eurovision this May.

The former Westlife star previously attempted to get a track into the Eurovision when he penned the song If My World Stopped Turning.

The track was entered into the Eurovision in 2004 with Chris Doran singing the tune, but Ireland came in 22nd place that year. Taking to Twitter to wish Nicky better luck than he had, Brian asked Nicky to do a better job than him.

This week Nicky revealed that as well as signing up for the Eurovision, he also landed a record deal with Universal Music.
